This pass by Sunnyside (Tucson, Ariz.) guard Adrian Canastillo might make Tom Brady proud. (Or Carson Palmer since the game is in Arizona).

Canastillo goes almost the full length of the court to find Nikc Jackson for the dunk. Jackson is a 6-8 member of the Class of 2018 who had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 58-50 victory against Rincon/University in the subregion championship game.

Junior point guard Drue Drinnon had 21 points, seven assists, and the game-winning three-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining in overtime to give Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.) a 76-75 victory against Wheeler (Marietta) in a game nationally televised by ESPNU.

The game-winning three was Drinnon’s fourth triple of the night. In his first season at Pebblebrook, Drinnon has seen his stock rise and he is ranked as the No. 9 junior in the state and No. 22 point guard in the Class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Pebblebrook had a 21-point lead early in the second half before Wheeler, playing before a packed house in its new 3,000-seat gym, rallied all the way back.

Last week in a meeting between the two teams, Pebblebrook trailed by 15 in the second half and rallied for an 80-77 victory.

Based on the way the playoff seedings are likely to be set, the two teams could meet again next Friday.

Alabama signee and McDonald’s All American Colin Sexton did not play for Pebblebrook, missing his second game with a concussion. He is expected to be back for the playoff run, coach George Washington told the Marietta Daily Journal.

Quarterback Danny Clark committed to Ohio State as a freshman and along the way got a large “Block O’ tattoo on left arm.

Clark, from Archbishop Hoban (Akron), decommitted from the Buckeyes in late September following the addition of Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) QB Tate Martell to the class.

Clark would later commit to Kentucky. In his first interview as a Wildcat earlier this week, Clark said the tattoo was “not really a big deal. There’s like three other guys with schools on them.”

“I don’t have any thoughts of removing it,” he said, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader, “but if it becomes such a big deal for people, it can be covered up in an hour.”

Well, Clark must have spent that hour because he posted a photo on Instagram that the tattoo has been changed.

Also Friday, Young also announced that he would be making his college choice on Feb. 16. He has taken official visits to each of his final three: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas.

During the win, Young added another to his highlight reel as seen below: He goes through his opponent’s legs, hits the three, then takes a bow and blows a kiss to the crowd. Young previously bowed earlier this season after hitting a game-winner.

Amos Luptak scored the 1,000th point of his high school career for Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, Pa.) on Saturday, and moments later, he collapsed near the team’s bench of an apparent seizure, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Luptak’s father told event organizer Allen Deep that Amos was “OK.” The game was against East Allegheny as part of a Coaches vs. Cancer event.

“It was a scary thing, but he’s OK,” Deep told the Post Gazette, noting the Luptak’s father said Amos had had a seizure before.

Luptak was taken out of the game after he scored his 1,000th point with 20 seconds remaining. After he collapsed, an ambulance came and he was taken to the hospital. The game did not resume.

Already the leading scorer in the state of California, Destiny Littleton scored 35 points Saturday in a 75-41 victory against Lincoln (San Diego) to eclipse 4,000 career points.

According to coach Marlon Wells, Littleton is now No. 14 in the nation in career scoring.

Littleton, a 5-9 guard from Bishop’s School (La Jolla, Calif.), was recently selected a McDonald’s All American. She is scheduled to receive her honorary jersey this week as part of the McDonald’s Hometown Heroes presented by American Family Insurance.

The national record of 5,424 points belongs to Adrian McGowen from Goodrich (Texas). She played from 2003 to ’06.

Centennial (Calif.) QB Tanner McKee makes Elite 11 Finals

Tanner McKee earned the first Elite 11 invitation of the year Saturday at The Nike Opening Regional event in Houston.

But McKee, ranked as the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2018 by the 247Sports Composite, had many miles to travel to do so.

McKee, from Centennial (Corona, Calif.), opted to qualify at the first stop and not wait for the regional event in Los Angeles on March 12.

“I went to Houston because it worked best with my schedule,” McKee said. “I’m taking several (unofficial visits) this spring.”

The 6-6 McKee has 12 reported offers and received offers from North Carolina, Missouri and Georgia in the last month.

The experience gave McKee exposure to quarterbacks from Texas.

“The competition was good with a lot of good players,” McKee said. “Texas has a lot of talent.”

The Elite 11 Finals are in June in Los Angeles, giving McKee several months to prepare.

“I want to just keep throwing as much as I can,” he said. “I want to stay relaxed and enjoy the process. I had fun. Spring ball at Centennial starts up soon so that will help prepare me as well.”

Crothersville advances to the 1A regional tournament with the victory.

Nation's two longest basketball win streaks end on same night: Federal Way (Wash.), Chino Hills (Calif.)

The nation’s two longest active boys basketball winning streaks ended on the same night.

Kentwood (Wash.) beat Federal Way 69-59 to end Federal Way’s 63-game winning streak, which was the nation’s longest.

The win gives Kentwood, which lost to Federal Way in last year’s Class 4A state title game, the top seed in the 4A West Central/Southwest bi-district tournament. Federal Way will be the No. 2 seed.

Federal Way’s last loss was to Bellevue on Jan. 19, 2015.

“We look back on it now and, even before tonight, and just thought it was a tremendous accomplishment — particularly in the game of basketball,” Federal Way coach Jerome Collins told The Seattle Times. “It’s in the history books. It’s something they can tell their kids and their grandkids about. But now, that part is over, and it’s about going on and looking to the next game.”

Meanwhile, at the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, Calif., Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) beat Chino Hills (Calif.), 96-91 to snap Chino Hills’ 60-game winning streak.

The streak was the third-longest in California and six from the state record held by Compton.

Cameron Dollar is a multi-sport athlete for East Lincoln High (Denver, N.C.) who signed to play football at Charlotte last week. During football season, he set a national record with seven receiving touchdowns in the first half of game.

But Dollar can put together highlights on the basketball court, too, as he recently became the sixth player in school history to surpass 1,000 points. Dollar finished with 30 points in a 64-62 victory against West Caldwell and made the game-winning free throws in the final seconds.

But check out the video below when Dollar made a shot from beyond halfcourt at the halftime buzzer and got fouled, turning the long three into a four-point play.

Texas WR Josh Moore -- and his 55 offers -- heads to IMG Academy

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) has added another star in Josh Moore, a Class of 2018 wide receiver with 55 reported offers. Moore announced his transfer from Yoakum (Texas) on Twitter.

In the video above from Scout, he talks about his decision and also how he is attempting to sort through the multitude of offers.

Interestingly, Moore’s twin brother, Jordan, intends to remain at Yoakum. Jordan is a Texas A&M safety commit.

Moore had 27 receptions for 527 yards and eight touchdowns last season as Yoakum reached the state title game. He also ran for 324 yards and four TDs.

The relationship between IMG and Texas high school coaches has been strained as a number of top recruits have left the state for Florida. Noah Cain, ranked as the No. 1 running back in the Class of 2019, left Texas for IMG last month. They follow players such as Kellen Mond and Jhamon Ausbon, who starred for IMG last season and are now at Texas A&M.

Also Sunday, IMG added Class of 2020 wide receiver Donovan Moorer, who was playing at Hebron Christian (Dacula, Ga.). He is listed at 5-7 and 140 pounds.

Kobe Bryant memorabilia stolen from Pa. high school

Several items displayed in Lower Merion (Ardmore, Pa.) “Kobe Case” were stolen Sunday night, according to a statement from the school.

Among the items missing are a replica jersey, state championship trophy and net, and several pairs of shoes signed by Bryant.

“We’re bummed,”  Lower Merion’s Director of Community Relations Doug Young told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“It’s a replica jersey, it’s not even the jersey he wore in high school. I’m not sure what someone would do with a state championship trophy. For us, the items are important because they represent some really wonderful memories.”

Police are currently investigating the incident, according to the Inquirer.

The school’s statement can be read here in full.

A Williamsville East (East Amherst, N.Y.) hockey player was tossed from a game Saturday after pushing an official to the ice.

The player, who was not named in a report from the Buffalo News, was being escorted to the penalty box after being called for roughing.

Due to the ejection, the player is already suspended for the team’s next game. He may face further suspension, however, from the New York State Public High Schools Athletic Association.
