The Slam Dunk to the Beach in Delaware finished Tuesday night and the highlights kept coming.

As the event Twitter feed pointing out about the second of the two dunks below by Westtown’s Mohamed Bamba, “Put this on repeat.”

Bamba, off to a great start this season, is ranked as the No. 8 player in the Class of 2017 by ESPN.com and has a huge number of college offers.

Pennsylvania’s Westtown (11-3) beat Friendship Collegiate (Washington, D.C.) 69-53 on Tuesday. Bamba had 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Westttown also features Cam Reddish, ranked No. 7 in the Class of 2018 by ESPN.com, and George Washington commit Jair Bolden. The team faces an interesting test this weekend against Advanced Prep (Dallas) in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.

Under Armour All-America Diary: All-America Game is last hoorah for Mack Wilson and Coach Gresham

In the days leading up to the Under Armour All-America Game, USA TODAY High School Sports will be checking in with a number of players for their accounts of the events and activities in Orlando. This entry is from undeclared Lyndell ‘Mack’ Wilson, an outside linebacker from Carver (Montgomery, Ala.). At 6-2 and 220, Wilson is ranked as the No. 1 outside linebacker in the nation by ESPN.com.

It feels great to come out to the Under Armour All-American Game practice and compete against the best competition in the nation every day. It’s making me better as a player and it’s definitely been really competitive. I know this is gonna prepare me for college, because it’s gonna be like this every day at practice. I feel like I need to go out every day and own it and do well and make sure I’m not slacking in any areas.

Right now I’ve got my college choices narrowed down to a Top 3, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. I left out USC and LSU because of the time period, I couldn’t visit and I didn’t want to play with anyone, so I stuck with the Top 3 of my original Top 5.

I’ll be playing as an outside linebacker, even though I played inside a lot this year. It wasn’t hard to switch between the two, I felt really comfortable at both positions and knew I could play.

It’s been great to have Coach Gresham (my high school coach at Carver) down here with me. I feel comfortable around him and he knows what I’m capable of, so it’s easy for him. It’s really great for both of us and I’m really lucky I get to play one last game for him.

I’ve been spending time with Ben Davis (inside linebacker from Gordo School, Gordo, Ala.), and we all got to go to Disney World last night. It was a ton of fun, just goofing around with all the guys. The coolest gear we’ve gotten has to be the cleats and helmets. Actually, just all the Under Armour gear!

Under Armour All-America Diary: Sidelined with injury, Kaden Smith enjoying the experience

In the days leading up to the Under Armour All-America Game, USA TODAY High School Sports will be checking in with a number of players for their accounts of the events and activities in Orlando. This entry is from Stanford commit Kaden Smith, a tight end Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. At 6-5, 235, Smith is ranked as the No. 3 tight end in the nation by ESPN.com.

It’s unfortunate I can’t play in the Under Armour All-American Game because of my knee injury. I let them know I was hurt and wouldn’t be able to play, but they were great about my situation and still let me come down for the week. Even though I can’t play, it still means a lot to be a UA All-American. Seeing the other athletes here, it’s an honor to be put with them because these are the best players in the nation.

Just meeting the athletes is a big deal. We’ve had a lot of fun so far! We went to Disney World yesterday and had a lot of fun. Being able to talk to all the coaches at practice and learn new techniques from them has made it worth while to come down, even though I can’t play.

Like I said, Disney World was a lot of fun, and we’re all going to the Orlando Magic game tonight, and then we’ve got a New Years Eve party tomorrow!

The best swag and gear that we’ve gotten has to be the shoes. We go the new Steph Curryy’s and the cleats are pretty sick. They’re actually my high school colors, so it would’ve been nice to have them last year so I could have worn them!

I’m just taking it all in and being observant and enjoying the experience as much as I can. It’s a bummer I can’t show it on the field, but I do feel like there’s still a lot I have to prove.

What sets me apart from others on the field is my football IQ. I can read the defense and can tell what they’re gonna do and then I know how to get open. It’s not all just speed and skill, which is good because I’m not the fastest guy! I’ve got good moves and can make defenders bite.

I guess people will just have to wait and watch me at Stanford.

I chose Stanford for a lot of reasons, everything between academics and how they use their tight ends. It’s a beautiful campus and the weather is great, a bit better than Texas! It’s a great location in California, the whole nine yards.

I thought about playing basketball this year, and that’s actually how I got hurt. I’m definitely done playing sports for the year and I don’t get my surgery until January, so I’ve just been walking around the practice field with a slight limp.

My injury gives me time to focus on school, which is good because Stanford isn’t easy to get in to. It’s hard for some athletes to get in, because it’s a heavy balance with school and sports. As of right now, I’ve been accepted and will be attending, the only problem may be a C in a class, but I should be good for next fall!

There aren’t any changes in the latest USA TODAY/National High School Coaches Association Super 25 Wrestling Rankings, but that probably won’t be the case next week.

RELATED: Super 25 Wrestling Rankings

The new year will kick off with The Clash XIV in Minnesota, which features seven Super 25 teams battling in a dual-meet format that will result an overall champ being crowned from the field of 32 teams. The tournament, which
features No. 6 Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.), No. 7 St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), No. 10 St. Michael-Albertville (Albertville, Minn.), No. 11 Oak Park River Forest (Oak Park, Ill.), No. 12 Tuttle (Tuttle, Okla.),No. 16 Marmion Academy (Aurora, Ill.) and No. 25 Apple Valley (Apple Valley, Minn.), will start on New Year’s Day with the finals set for Saturday.

Oak Park River Forest is the tournament’s defending champ.

Also shaping next week’s rankings will be the showdown between No. 2 Blair Academy (Blairstown, N.J.) and No. 5 Graham (St. Paris, Ohio) on Saturday in the Buckeye State. The match will be the first of two big duals in the month of January for Blair. On January 23rd, the Buccaneers will face No. 1 Wyoming Seminary (Kingston, Penn.), which on Wednesday crowned two champs at the prestigious Powerade Wrestling Tournament in western Pennsylvania.

Fairfax (Los Angeles) is heading home from San Diego as the Under Armour Holiday Classic National Division champions for the second consecutive year.

Fairfax (12-1) downed Centennial (Corona, Calif.), 68-53.  Fairfax’s 68 points were the most it scored in its four games at the event using its defensive-oriented style.

Donald Gipson, who had 14 in the final, was named the National Division MVP. So far this season, Gipson has shown no ill effects from knee surgery after an injury suffered in the playoffs last season.

Teammates Antoine Moore, Jamal Hartwell and Babakar Thiombane were named all-tournament. Thiombane had 14 in the final. Hartwell had seven points, five rebounds and seven assists.

Centennial’s Jalen Hill had a game-high 23 in the final and was named all-tournament as well.

Under Armour All-America Diary: Nigel Knott is back to 100 percent in time for game day

In the days leading up to the Under Armour All-America Game, USA TODAY High School Sports will be checking in with a number of players for their accounts of the events and activities in Orlando. This entry is from Mississippi cornerback Nigel Knott, who hails from Madison, Miss. At 5-11, 174 pounds, Knott is ranked as the No. 4 cornerback in the nation by ESPN.com.

This whole experience started with the first day, when I flew down to Orlando. It was my first time being in this area of Florida, and as soon as we got off the plane it was pretty crowded. There were fans around already who knew who we were and we had to sign autographs from the airport in. People knew what was going on.

The practices have been great. There’s a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, so it’s really competitive. You have to make sure you’re going 100 percent all the time at this level. They’ve been leading up to (Thursday’s) skills challenge, and you have to keep your body ready.

RELATED: Nigel Knott ready to ‘ball out’ at Under Armour All-America Game

It’s been great going back and forth with offensive players that are so talented. I’m just trying to get better with my technique, and have spent a lot of time talking with my skills coaches and everyone else. I want to make sure I’m improving from this experience.

As of right now, I’m going to make my four official visits left. I already went to Oregon in September. I’ll take them in January but I might have to take one in during the week just to fit it in. I’m making my decision based on what the best place is for me, where I can get to play and the atmosphere I’m looking for. People will have to wait and see where those four places are.

We’ve been getting some pretty cool stuff from Under Armour. The shoes are pretty slick. The Cam Newton jacket, the zipper is a little to the right, that’s a cool number, too. We have a pretty cool outfit every day. It’s fun.

They keep us busy when we’re not practicing, too. We’ve been to an NBA game already, we went to Hollywood Studios at Disney World. Today we have a bowling party and tomorrow we have a big football watching party. They always have something for us to do, which has made it a great experience.

My torn meniscus injury really hurt me, but I’m back to 100 percent, and I’m ready to go. People should know that wherever I end up next year, I’ll be ready.

Under Armour All-America Diary: Willie Allen could commit during Saturday's UA All-America Game

In the days leading up to the Under Armour All-America Game, USA TODAY High School Sports will be checking in with a number of players for their accounts of the events and activities in Orlando. This entry is from Louisiana native Willie Allen, an offensive tackle for state power John Curtis High in New Orleans. At 6-7, 300, Allen is ranked as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation by ESPN.com and No. 5 overall recruit.

These Under Armour practices have been pretty intense. The top guys are all here, and we’re competing every day. It can make all of us better, and I think it’s going to.

I really don’t have any problem with playing on a bigger stage like this. I’m not sure if some of the other guys here do, but I know a lot of the other players here from Louisiana. We’re all just out here competing. We’re all at the same place right now, and we want to take advantage of it because this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We’ve been doing a lot when we’re not playing football, but personally, I’m really most excited about giving back to the Boys & Girls Club tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to that. We’re going to coach them and help build bikes. It’s just a small way to give back, but we never had that when I was growing up. Hopefully we can help make some kids’ lives a little bit better.

Because I’m from Louisiana, which isn’t too far, I’m getting to spend time with my family when I’m not in practice. And they are all here. There’s like 40 or 50 people coming in to see me. Me being in this game is a big deal for us.

John Curtis offensive lineman Willie Allen (Photo: Intersport)

John Curtis offensive lineman Willie Allen (Photo: Intersport)

As far as college football, I don’t have a recruiting timetable. I’ll commit whenever I’m ready. I told my family I would do it whenever, and they all were ok with it. I don’t know if I’ll commit Saturday, but it’s a definite possibility.

Rashan (defensive tackle and top overall prospect Rashan Gary) has been talking to me about next year, as have a lot of other guys. They’ve been doing a good job of trying to recruit me, all to different places.

While I’m still not sure where I’ll play next year, I think everyone should know that family matters to me. I’m really focused on getting better every day and giving back to my family, and that’s what I’m here to do.

Five players are expected to announce their college decision during Saturday’s broadcast of the Under Armour All-America Game on ESPN2 (noon, ET).

  • IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) linebacker Rahshaun Smith: A four-star prospect who is ranked as No. 74 overall on the 247Sports Composite rankings, Smith is down to Clemson, LSU and Auburn. Smith was a Clemson commit at one time and Clemson could still be the favorite.
  • North Mesquite (Mesquite, Texas) offensive lineman Jean Delance: The four-star tackle who is ranked No. 10 at the position by the 247Sports Composite has narrowed his choices to LSU, Michigan and Texas, with Texas and Michigan considered the favorites. The lure of playing in his home state might be too much, though. Delance was committed to Oklahoma and then decommitted in March when videos surfaced of fraternity members chanting racist remarks.
  • IMG Academy athlete Drake Davis: Named to the American Family Insurance ALL-USA first-team offense as an athlete/specialist, Davis will decide among LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama. He is ranked as the No. 13 wide receiver. Davis is a Mississippi native and his home state school might have the edge. Davis named Ole Miss as his favorite in October and initially, there were indications that he would announce earlier this season, but he opted to wait. He visited LSU in November and December.
  • Central (Beaumont, Texas) running back Devwah Whaley:  A four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 4 running back in the class, Whaley has taken some criticism from Georgia fans after he decommitted from the school following Mark Richt’s departure. A workhorse back, he ran for more than 1,500 yards on 230 carries with 21 touchdowns. Staying in Texas seems likely, but his recruiting has taken some turns along the way. Is another one in the offing?
  • DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) offensive lineman Terrance Davis: The four-star prospect is the No. 2 guard in the class. He is down to Florida, Michigan and Maryland. Davis has not previously committed anywhere. “The pressure was more on me because I waited long, but for me, once I commit, I commit,” he said. “There are guys who committed and decommited two times. I wasn’t with that.”

Montverde (Fla.) Academy won the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in the school’s first appearance in the 35-year history of the event. But for coach Kevin Boyle, it was a successful return.

Boyle won the event’s 2008 title with St. Patrick (N.J.). and the school went 9-4 in four appearances. He was inducted into the Beach Ball Classic Hall of Fame earlier in the week.

“Being inducted in this Hall of Fame is really special,” Boyle told the Myrtle Beach Sun News. “You look at the other coaches that were put in, and you’re in there with guys that have had just great, great careers and are really good at leading kids.”

In Thursday’s title game, Montverde (15-1) held on for a 52-48 victory against St. John’s College High (Washington, D.C.). Montverde built a 20-point lead at one point, but was later held scoreless for more than seven minutes as St. John’s scored 16 consecutive points. St. John’s had a chance to take the lead in the final seconds but a three-pointer rimmed out.

“Any time you win this tournament, obviously you’d like to win it in dominant fashion and playing great, and I thought we did that for about 25 minutes and the last seven minutes were a disaster,” Boyle, who became the first coach to win the tournament with more than one school, told the Sun News. “But we were able to come out with the win, and that’s what counts in the end.”

Ohio State-bound Micah Potter had game highs with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the final and was named the tournament MVP.

The next test for Montverde comes Saturday at the Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, W.Va. Montverde plays DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) in a battle of national title contenders.

Wide receiver Cameron Mackey from North Marion (Citra, Fla.) was among the headliners at the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Friday night in Daytona Beach thanks to this 99-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

“Just trying to follow my blockers and score for my team,” Mackey, who is deciding between Cincinnati and Kentucky, said afterward on an ESPN3 interview.

The American team beat the National team 37-34 in a back-and-forth affair won on a 32-yard field goal by Austin “A.J.” Reed (Prattville, Ala.).

Another of the great plays was this 42-yard TD reception by West Virginia commit Steven Smothers (Franklin; Reisterstown, Md.) for the American team.

Most of the highlights of the Under Armour All-America Game were made by Team Highlight. And the best came from Miami commit wide receiver Dionte Mullins with a one-handed grab for a touchdown.

Mullins, a four-star recruit from Gulliver Prep in Miami, hooked up with future Hurricanes teammate Jack Allison, a four-star recruit from Palmetto. The players also seemed to have the TD celebration well-choreographed.

Mullins said he was expecting it to be over the shoulder, but then had to adjust.  “I was surprised myself that I had it,” Mullins said during an in-game interview.

While five players announced their college decisions during the ESPN2 broadcast of the Under Armour All-America Game on Saturday, four-star wide receiver Cavin Ridley took a more low-key approach.

No national TV, no Twitter announcement, no pre-arranged video.

Ridley, from Deerfield Beach High in Florida, surprised news reporters after the game by saying that he had committed to South Carolina on Friday in a phone call with new Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.

“They were recruiting me since they were at Auburn,” Ridley said, according to The Miami Herald. “They recruit well. They recruit South Florida kids and recruit them the best they can, and I just believe in Coach T-Rob and the things they tell me. I just ran with them. It’s a new staff, and I think everybody in the world would like a new start. I feel like I can go in there and make an impact.”

Ridley’s older brother Calvin plays for Alabama, which was Cavin’s other finalists and according to reports, expected to sign him.

“He’s just going to let me do me,” Ridley said, according to the Herald. “He wants what’s best for me, and just do what I’ve got to do.”

Outside linebacker Michael Divinity, who decomitted from LSU in the midst of questions about Les Miles’ job in October, recommitted to the Tigers on Saturday at the Under Armour All-America Game.

Divinity is ranked as the No. 4 outside linebacker in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana by the 247Sports Composite.

Divinity is an early enrollee and will have a signing ceremony on Jan. 5 at his high school, John Ehret High in Louisiana, before he heads to Baton Rouge for the start of the spring semester.

“I’m sticking with LSU,” Divinity said in making the announcement, according to 247Sports. “I love it there. It’s home. Me and Coach Frank Wilson and Coach Les Miles and Coach Bradley Dale Peveto, we all have a great relationship. I told my mother and father that even though all the stuff happened with Coach Miles, I still wanted to be a Tiger.”

After decommitting, he had considered Texas A&M.

His recommitment comes a day after LSU hired Dave Aranda as defensive coordinator from Wisconsin. A vacancy was created earlier this week when defensive coordinator Kevin Steeler left for Auburn to replace Will Muschamp, now the head coach at South Carolina.

“I thought hard about my decision,” Divinity said. “But I had to make my decision for me and not worry about what was going on.”

Divinity’s addition follows the commitment of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) wide receiver Drake Davis, who announced for the Tigers during the ESPN2 broadcast.

LSU has the No. 1 spot in the team rankings for the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports. According to ESPN, the Tigers were No. 2 behind Ole Miss entering the day.

In odd turn of events, Keion Joyner commits to Florida State at Under Armour All-America Game

The tumultuous high school career of linebacker Keion Joyner, who had one point was ranked as the No. 1 player in the Class of 2016, came to an equally tumultuous end at the Under Armour All-America Game.

Joyner committed to Florida State, but the news was communicated in an unexpected way.

ESPN taped Joyner committing to Florida State from its set along the field at the Citrus Bowl. The plan was for the video to be released at a later date. The audio was inadvertently played in the press box and was audible on the field, other players said.

Joyner did not realize that was happening. When reporters spoke to him after the game, he said he had not committed to Florida State because the news was not supposed to leak. ESPN eventually released the video (as seen above) and Joyner tweeted his three-letter commitment.

On the video, he said he ended the recruiting process because, “I just got tired about being hassled about it and just people asking me,” said Joyner.

He added his connection with FSU defensive ends/outside linebacker coach Brad Lawing was instrumental in his recruitment.

“The coaching chemistry that me and Coach Lawing have. He was checking out my grades and he just wanted to stay on top of things,” Joyner said.

Joyner is ranked as the No. 7 player at his position, No. 3 player in North Carolina and No. 84 overall.

He played only three games at Havelock (N.C.) this season before being dismissed from the team for reasons that have not been explained. At the time, Joyner tweeted “It’s all a misunderstanding,” and then said he was taking a break from social media.

Joyner’s addition moved Florida State to No. 2 behind LSU in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings, among others, as duly noted by Florida State assistant coach Tim Brewster.

Marvin Bagley III, the No. 1 basketball recruit in the Class of 2018, has enrolled at Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), according to reports from ESPN and The Los Angeles Times.

The 6-11 forward Bagley played last season at Corona del Sol in Tempe, Ariz., and transferred to Hillcrest Academy in Phoenix, a new national prep academy, where he was joining his father, who was hired as an associate coach.

But Bagley Jr. took his son out after he left the school, telling Gannett partner The Arizona Republic that “everything we went there for, it’s impossible.” That included a national championship after a number of media properties, including USA TODAY High School Sports, declined to include Hillcrest in the rankings. Marvin III was being home-schooled since he left Hillcrest.

Coach Ty Nichols told the Times that paperwork will be submitted to the California Interscholastic Federation’s Southern Section seeking approval for Bagley to be eligible to play. Sierra Canyon is 9-1 and was ranked No. 13 in the most recent Super 25 rankings before the holidays.

Oddly enough, Corona del Sol lost only one game last season — to Sierra Canyon, which would go on to win a CIF championship. Corona del Sold won its fourth consecutive state title in Arizona.

The Bagley family has not publicly commented.

His addition — if eligible — could vault Sierra Canyon even further into national prominence. The roster already includes Cody Riley and Ira Lee, both ranked in the top 35 among juniors, three-star point guard Remy Martin and Nevada signee Devearl Ramsey. Even if he cannot play this season, the group of Bagley, Riley, Lee and Martin would be a national title contender next season.
