Walker Little, the No. 2 overall recruit in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports, again showed how dominant he can.

Watch as the senior at Episcopal (Bellaire, Texas) pushed the defensive player from St. Mark’s more than 15 yards on a run play. Little is wearing No. 75 in the videos below.

Little, an Army All-American, is making the journey to California early Saturday for an unofficial visit for the Stanford-USC game.

On this play, the defensive player gets airborne when knocked backward.

Ky. team kneels, takes delay of game penalty rather than taking knee during anthem

The coach at Waggener High in Louisville said last week after a player kneeled for the national anthem that they were looking at steps for an alternate gesture.

“We are taking steps for next Friday to ensure our young men can make a stand for social injustice, while at the same time not showing, what is perceived as, disrespect,” coach Jordan Johnson said. “We support our young men in an effort to make a change for their future.”

RELATED: Entire team in San Francisco takes a knee during anthem

That alternative was that the entire team took a knee after the first play of the game and took a delay of game penalty.

“I am so proud of our young men and their desire to see change occur! I could not be at a better place!,” Johnson tweeted after the game.

Among those supporting Tre Chappell, the lone player to take a knee last week, were members of the Kentucky Green Party, as seen in the video above. A number of other players initially kneeled but stood when the music began playing.

Fans were moved to the field and the stadium was placed on lockdown while police helicopters flew overhead to search the neighborhood. The players were in the locker rooms at the time of the incident.

Fans eventually were able to leave through certain gates and the game was postponed.

No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) avenged the only loss the program has suffered in the last three seasons by beating No. 18 St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.), 35-14, in the Armour Bowl on Saturday night.

St. John’s won the 2014 meeting 35-2, handing the Ascenders their only loss that season, and IMG has not lost since.

The Ascenders’ offense continues to click behind Texas A&M quarterback commit Kellen Mond, who threw for 191 yards on 9-for-13 passing with three touchdowns. He also opened the scoring on a 49-yard run and finished with 81 yards on the ground.

IMG (4-0) opened the scoring on Mond’s run less than two minutes into the game and he hit Brian Hightower for a 65 yards pass midway through the opening quarter.

Before the quarter ended, St. John’s caught on the scoreboard as Kwincy Hall caught a 27-yard TD pass from Kasim Hill and the score was 14-7 at halftime.

IMG struck first in the second half with a 6-yard TD pass from Mond to Tre McKitty for a 21-7 lead. Hill answeed with a 4-yard TD run with 3:38 left in the third quarter, but St. John’s would get no closer.

Brock Annexstand caught 32-yard TD pass from Mond with 2:52 left in the third quarter and IMG capped the scoring when McKitty caught a 9-yard TD pass from Zack Annestad. McKitty finished with 81 yards receiving on four catches. Asa Martin had 80 yards rushing and 63 yards receiving.

The IMG defense continues to be strong, allowing 292 yards with 131 on the ground. Keilan Robinson had 101 yards rushing for the Cadets on 16 carries. Hill was 14-for-25 for 161 yards and threw for one touchdown. He ran for the other.

IMG defensive back Grant Delpit had an interception, his second of the season.

The Ascenders host Boyd Anderson (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) next Saturday. St. John’s (3-1) faces a challenge at home next Saturday from unbeaten Good Counsel (Olney, Md.).

No. 1 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) added another ranked team its resume Saturday night, downing No. 17 Kahuku (Hawaii), 35-7.

The two-time defending Super 25 champion Gaels have beaten three teams that were nationally ranked at the time of the game — Cedar Hill (Texas), St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) and Kahuku — and another that was regionally ranked, Cocoa (Fla.).

Gorman (4-0), winners of 43 in a row, plays its first in-state opponent next week against Bonanza (Las Vegas) before hosting No. 9 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) in a nationally televised game.

The loss snapped an 18-game winning streak for Kahuku, which had a strong contingent of fans who made the trip to Las Vegas. Kahuku (5-1) entered the game with three consecutive shutouts and having allowed only 22 points in five games.

Saturday, Ohio State quarterback commit Tate Martell was responsible for all five Gorman touchdowns, four passing and one rushing.

After a scoreless first quarter, Martell hit a short pass to Brevin Jordan, who did the rest for an 18-yard TD with 11:49 remaining in the second quarter. Martell then hit Austin Arnold in the corner of the end zone for a TD for a 14-0 lead.

Kahuku QB Sol-Jay Maiava went 45 yards down the sideline to cut the lead to 14-7.

In the first half, Gorman had 228 yards — 101 passing for Martell — to Kahuku’s 102, but the Gaels turned the ball over twice.

In the third quarter, Martell scrambled for a TD with 5:44 left and a 21-7 lead.

In the fourth quarter, after a fumble recovery, Martell hits Brevin Jordan on 3-yard TD for a 28-7 lead. Martell and Gorman capped the scoring with a 24-yard TD pass to Dorian Thompson-Robinson with 2:21 left in the game.

He came into the game with 586 yards on 39 carries with 12 rushing touchdowns in two games.

Washington commit Michael Porter, ESPN.com’s No. 2 basketball recruit in the Class of 2017, and his brothers will return to being homeschooled, he told Washington website #Dawgman.

Porter transferred from Father Tolton (Columbia, Mo.) to Nathan Hale in Seattle when his father took a job as an assistant coach with the Washington men’s basketball program. Michael Porter Sr. previously was on the women’s basketball coaching staff at Missouri.

Porter, a 6-10 small forward, and younger brother Jontay, a four-star power forward in the Class of 2018, have committed to the Huskies. Michael Porter was one of only two underclassmen to make the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Basketball Teams in 2015-16.

The Porter family has eight children, with four kids younger than high school age. Those in high school were homeschooled before they reach high school. The two oldest, daughters Bri and Cierra, attended public school. Michael and Jontay went to Father Tolton when it opened in 2011. Tolton has less than 300 students.

“For the most part, I don’t know that he looks at himself as anything other than just being a normal student,” Tolton coach Jeremy Osborne told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in February. “It’s the outside that creates a lot of noise for him. He’s comfortable here because he’s just a normal dude.”

Porter and Hale are in action Sunday in fall league games.

Whittier Christian (La Habra, Calif.) quarterback Quinn Commans threw for nine touchdown passes to equal a CIF-Southern Section record in a 68-55 victory against Bell.

If that wasn’t enough, he also ran for a score.

Commans threw for 490 yards on 27-for-39 passing, according to The Orange County Register, and added 46 yards rushing.

The nine TD passes equaled the mark set twice by Robert De La Cruz of Cathedral (Los Angeles) in 1998 and ’99.

He has 20 touchdown passes on the season through four games and is averaging 374.5 yards per game.

Four-star all-purpose back T.J. Pledger from Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) has moves.

There is no doubt about that. He is ranked as the No. 3 all-purpose back in the Class of 2018 by the 247Sports Composite for a reason.

Then there was this move that our friends at #D1Nation slowed down to make the cut easier to see.

Pledger ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns in a victory against Bakersfield (Calif.).

He has 18 offers, including USC, Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Heartbreaker: Texas QB accounts for six TDs and 613 yards, but team loses by point

John Tyler (Tyler, Texas) quarterback Bryson Smith, a Houston commit, had himself a game Friday night.

Three touchdown passes and 389 yards in the air. Three rushing touchdowns and 224 yards on the ground.

That’s six TDs and 613 yards of total offense.

But amazingly, his team ended up on the short end of a 59-58 duel to Rockwall in a game that was tied five times.

Those numbers would be bigger — and perhaps the game would have had a different result — had Smith’s 53-yard TD run not been called back by a taunting penalty.

The winning points came on a two-point conversion with 3:13 remaining.

John Tyler scored on nine of its 11 possessions. The only two when it didn’t score? A third-quarter turnover and the end of the game.

Donovan Jeter, one of the top defensive ends in the country, committed Monday to Notre Dame.

Jeter was initially planning to commit on Halloween, but he pushed the date forward after visiting South Bend. The 6-5, 250-pound end chose the Irish over the likes of Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Georgia, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Stanford, and others.

“It just felt right when I stepped on their campus,” Jeter told Scout.com. “It felt like I was home.”

It makes sense that Jeter would feel right at home, as he joins five other Western Pennsylvania athletes who have already committed to Notre Dame. Defensive tackle Kurt Hinish, linebackers David Adams and Drew White, offensive lineman Josh Lugg, and 2018 QB Phil Jurkovec are all from the area and all committed to Notre Dame.

Mississippi State commit Marcus Murphy had three touchdown runs for West Point (Miss.) in a 47-6 win Friday over Noxubee County.

Murphy finished with 15 carries for 173 yards, but the highlight was a 95-yard run in which he broke through the line and just kept on going.

“I put it all on the O-line,” Murphy told Gannett partner The Clarion-Ledger. “That’s the O-line’s run. If they block for me, I’m going to make something happen.”

See Murphy’s highlights below. The long run comes at about the 1:40 mark.

Hazing expert research: 85% of any community supports the perpetrator

ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” has done amazing work on hazing in high school athletics, including a recent one-hour special that is worth taking the time to find.

As part of its continuing coverage, Dr. Susan Lipkins, a expert in campus violence and hazing, made an appearance with Bob Ley.

“Most people don’t understand hazing,” she said.

She cited her research that shows 85% of the community in most cases will support the perpetrator and only 15% will support the victim and the victim’s family.

“The victims are usually socially isolated,” she said. “People want to maintain the status quo, especially in athletics. They think it has something to do with masculinity or you have to be tough so you have to be able to take it. You have to prove that you are good enough to be on the team.”

Daja Woodard can dunk. Need proof?

Woodard, a 6-2 junior at LeFlore (Mobile, Ala.), dunked at the John Lucas Elite 160 Camp in Houston recently while the rest of the campers looked on. The impetus was that Lucas, the former NBA guard and coach, said he had never seen a girl dunk before in person.

“Daja has a bunch of Power 5 offers already, and I think that dunk has garnered her even more attention,” Patrick Beverly, a scout for BallN Prep Report, told AL.com. “You don’t see a lot of athletes like her. She is not just a girl who can dunk. That video may bring her some attention, but they will soon see there is a lot more to her game.”

Woodard transferred to LeFlore, which went 35-0 last season, after two stellar seasons at Blount.

Vidalia downed Metter 28-6 and McBride posted 20 tackles and scored rushing touchdowns of 11 and 3 yards, according to Scout.com.
