It’s not a secret that Tucker (Ga.) defensive end Aaron Sterling is a good — even dominant football player. But ask him, and he’s happy to tell you that he is far from reaching his full potential.
Asked to briefly describe what he sees as the strengths in his game, Sterling offered a few.
“I’m really good at my get-off, my pass-rush. I’m good at stopping the run,” Sterling said, though he was quick to add that he can improve. “I can get better, though. I still gotta work at my all-around game, getting faster and stronger and bigger.”
Regardless of what he perceives as potential holes in his game, Sterling was honored Thursday as part of the Under Armour All-America Game Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance.

An event was held at Sterling’s school in front of friends, family, and teammates.

“The ceremony was awesome,” Sterling said. “I felt a little nervous because I was in front of everybody, but I’m very honored and very appreciative of them for inviting me to the game.
Sterling, one of the nation’s top defensive ends, had been committed to Alabama since last Christmas. Last week, however, he decided to open his recruitment back up.
“It’s still pretty wide open,” Sterling said of his recruitment. “After decommitting, more coaches hit me up, so I’m just seeing what’s being brought to me. What they can do for me and what I can do for them.”
There’s certainly plenty Sterling can do for any team, and his talents will be on display at the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando on Jan. 1.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and interacting with NFL people — like the coaches and players,” he said. “Just going out there and trying to learn and make my game better. Just having this experience with other players around the country.”
