Akial Byers goes to high school about a mile from the stadium that the Arkansas Razorbacks call home in Fayetteville. But the defensive tackle’s college destination is Alabama.

Before he gets to Tuscaloosa, though, Byers will play in the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando on Jan. 1. The Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance came to town Tuesday to preset him with an honorary jersey.

He is the only player from the state scheduled to play in the game.

Byers, 6-4 and 275 pounds, is rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the Class of 2017 by ESPN.com and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Arkansas.

Byers committed to Alabama in July after an unofficial campus visit.
