It has not been a particularly good month for five-star Ohio State-bound wide receivers.

First, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) wide receiver Trevon Grimes underwent season-ending knee surgery. Now, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) star Tyjon Lindsey has announced that his senior season, too, has come to an end.

“I got the news today (Thursday),” Lindsey told Steve Guiremand of MyLVSports.com. “If I played (the season) out I might hurt it even more and I might actually tear a ligament. I don’t want to risk anything right now so my decision is to try and get the surgery as soon as possible.”

Both Lindsey and Grimes expect to be fully recovered for next season in Columbus.

Lindsey returned to Bishop Gorman before the season after intending to play for Centennial (Corona, Calif.) in his native Southern California. He was not eligible to play early in the season while his transfer paperwork was processed, but he also broke a collarbone during a scrimmage that kept him sidelined.
