Anthony McFarland Jr. figures to be a spectator at the Under Armour All-America Game, but that hasn’t diminished the honor of being selected.

The shifty running back from DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) suffered a broken leg in a scrimmage before the season opener and has not played this season.

McFarland received his honorary jersey Wednesday when the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance came to DeMatha.

McFarland is ranked as the No. 8 running back in the nation, No. 2 player in Maryland and No. 70 player overall by ESPN.

He has a listed Top 5 of Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Miami and Tennessee, but also has taken an official visit to Penn State.
