George Muresan, the 6-9 son of former NBA player Gheorghe Muresan, will play basketball next season for Georgetown, the younger Muresan’s school, St. Andrew’s (Potomac, Md.) announced on Twitter.
The younger Muresan doesn’t have the height of his 7-7 father, but he is said to be strong with the basketball, plays good defense and has range to the three-point line. Muresan will be a priority walk-on with the Hoyas; he also was offered a similar spot by Syracuse after a visit last fall.
He is the next in a line of NBA progeny to play for John Thompson III. Patrick Ewing Jr. played for the Hoyas and Alonzo Mourning’s son Trey is on the current roster, as pointed about by CSN Mid-Atlantic.
